Exhibiting a beautiful balance of raw earthiness and spontaneous graphic structure, this hand-thrown jug from our Adwai collection makes a sculptural statement out of everyday table service. The silhouette features a classic, volumed belly that moves into a wide, prominent neck and a gently pinched pouring lip. A sweeping loop handle traces the side, providing an exceptionally stable, balanced grip that makes serving a rhythmic, effortless pleasure.

The exterior acts as a minimal canvas for raw, element-driven abstract graphics. A smooth, matte-satin beige glaze coats the stoneware body, providing a soft background for a series of bold, hand-painted trails in an unglazed, iron-rich sienna brown slip. These dynamic, geometric lines trace across the neck and wrap organically around the swelling belly, ending in raw accent marks near the foot. The interior features a glossy, dark chocolate liner glaze that peeks over the upper rim, handsomely contrasting the warm, pale stoneware exterior.

Engineered with a dense, thick-walled stoneware build, this jug offers superior thermal retention to keep your spring water, iced botanical infusions, or fresh juices beautifully cool throughout a slow meal. The striking harmony between the neutral clay body and the bold, geometric iron trails transforms an ordinary kitchen pourer into a functional work of art.

Process & Craft

Rooted in a dedication to pure geometric form and spontaneous glaze work, this jug begins on the potter's wheel where mineral-rich local stoneware clay is thrown and sculpted by hand before its large side handle is pulled and attached. The raw piece undergoes a grueling 20-hour vitrification process at 1300°C inside a wood-fired kiln to build a resilient, non-porous structure. Once cooled, the artisan applies a smooth, mineral-beige base glaze, then uses a broad brush to lay down fast, intuitive abstract strokes using a concentrated iron oxide slip. During the final firing, these linear iron trails fuse into the body, revealing a striking matte-sienna texture that contrasts beautifully against the surrounding satin glaze.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
