Bringing a grounded, architectural presence to your living space, this elegantly proportioned vase from our Adwai collection balances a striking sculptural profile with rich, elemental art. The vessel is designed with a dramatic, flared trumpet neck that sweeps downward into a defined, narrow waist before expanding into a low-slung, bulbous base. This thoughtful geometry provides excellent structural stability while creating an ideal canvas for showcasing both sprawling floral arrangements and minimal, single-stem branch displays.

The exterior acts as a minimal canvas for raw, element-driven abstract graphics. A smooth, matte-satin beige glaze coats the stoneware body, heavily dappled with fine, dark iron speckles that rise from the raw clay beneath. This neutral backdrop provides a soft background for a bold, hand-painted trail in an unglazed, iron-rich sienna brown slip that cuts dynamically down the length of the neck and breaks organically across the swelling belly like a natural fault line. The interior features a glossy, dark chocolate liner glaze that lines the inside walls and flows smoothly over the altered, subtly squared upper rim, handsomely framing the piece with clean, sophisticated boundaries.

Meticulously crafted from high-density stoneware clay, this versatile vase offers a heavy, stable foundation to bridge modern minimalism with raw, rustic textures.

Process & Craft

Rooted in a dedication to pure geometric form and spontaneous glaze work, this vase begins on the potter's wheel where mineral-rich local stoneware clay is meticulously thrown into its two distinct volumes—the flared trumpet neck and the rounded base—before being masterfully joined while leather-hard. While still pliable, the upper rim is gently pinched to create its signature subtly squared opening. The raw piece undergoes a grueling 20-hour vitrification process at 1300°C inside a wood-fired kiln to build a resilient, non-porous structure. Once cooled, the artisan applies a smooth, mineral-beige base glaze, then uses a broad brush to lay down a fast, intuitive abstract stroke using a concentrated iron oxide slip. During the final firing, this linear iron trail fuses into the body, revealing a striking matte-sienna texture that contrasts beautifully against the surrounding satin glaze.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
