The vessel is designed with a distinctive, sturdily tapered silhouette that is wider at the base and narrows slightly toward the rim—an intentional form that keeps your beverage hot longer while providing excellent stability. Sweeping from the rim is a generous, fluidly pulled loop handle, engineered with a thick, comfortable grip and finished with a classic artisan thumb-press accent at its base.
The exterior features an exquisite, multi-toned reactive glaze treatment. A cool, mossy teal-blue and slate grey stippling dominates the main body, layered over a rich, sun-baked amber-brown foundation. Where the glaze breaks over the upper lip and flows down the handle, it thins to reveal a beautifully toasted, metallic iron-brown hue that outlines the mug's handcrafted architecture. The interior is coated in a smooth, high-gloss chocolate liner glaze, ensuring a non-porous, stain-resistant surface that is exceptionally easy to clean.

Process & Craft
Throwing a clean, tapered profile on the potter's wheel requires careful upward pressure to gradually cinch the spinning clay walls inward while maintaining uniform thickness from the base to the lip. Once the body is thrown from mineral-dense local stoneware and reaches a leather-hard state, the artisan pulls the handle directly from a separate piece of clay, tapering it seamlessly and fusing it to the rim and base with precise thumb pressure. After a primary bisque firing, the piece is treated with a combination of high-iron base slips and a reactive cobalt-titanium top glaze. Fired at 1300°C for 20 hours in a wood-reduction kiln, the intense atmosphere coaxes the iron speckles to the surface and causes the glazes to melt into a variegated, unrepeatable patina.
