Drawing the eye inward through rhythm and repetition, this ceramic disc-shaped incense holder reflects a studio practice shaped by years of wood firing and material exploration in India. The circular form is carefully made to hold balance and stillness, allowing the concentric pattern to unfold with quiet intensity rather than ornament. Alternating bands of earthy clay and deep blue emerge through natural glazing and long firings, where kiln atmosphere softens edges and deepens colour. Crafted in stoneware and fired patiently, the surface carries subtle variation that speaks of hand, heat, and time. Each incense is handmade by master craftspeople using traditional studio pottery methods, beginning with wheel-thrown forms shaped from unique clay mixes prepared in-house. Natural, mineral-rich glazes are applied by hand, drawing from Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong influences that guide the studio’s design sensibility. Fired at nearly 1300°C, the stoneware develops remarkable strength and a glaze surface shaped by the dynamic play of fire, ash, and high-temperature reactions inside the kiln. Every piece is quietly distinct — a reflection of the kiln’s temperament, the hands that shaped it, and the experienced designers who curate its final aesthetic.
