Formed within a studio practice shaped by decades of making, teaching, and wood-firing in India, this ceramic mug reflects an approach where form, material, and use evolve together over time. The low, grounded profile and generous handle are wheel-thrown with clarity and repetition, prioritising balance, comfort, and everyday function. Warm, layered tones emerge through natural glazing and long wood firings, allowing ash, flame movement, and kiln atmosphere to leave subtle, unplanned markings on the surface. Crafted in stoneware and fired patiently, the mug develops depth and tactility that reward regular use rather than perfection at first glance. Designed for daily tea or coffee, the form sits comfortably in the hand and on the table, carrying the quiet confidence of objects made through sustained practice, shared knowledge, and lived experience.

Process & Craft
Each mug is handmade by master craftspeople using traditional studio pottery methods, beginning with wheel-thrown forms shaped from unique clay mixes prepared in-house. Natural, mineral-rich glazes are applied by hand, drawing from Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong influences that guide the studio’s design sensibility. Fired at nearly 1300°C, the stoneware develops remarkable strength and a glaze surface shaped by the dynamic play of fire, ash, and high-temperature reactions inside the kiln. Every piece is quietly distinct — a reflection of the kiln’s temperament, the hands that shaped it, and the experienced designers who curate its final aesthetic.
Sustainability Practices
Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
