Shaped within a studio practice grounded in decades of wood firing, teaching, and sustained making in India, this ceramic cup reflects an approach where drawing, surface, and everyday use come together naturally. The compact, upright form is wheel-thrown with restraint, allowing the cup to feel balanced and steady in the hand. A bold, hand-painted mark moves across the pale surface like a single, confident gesture, emerging as part of the making rather than applied decoration. Crafted in stoneware and wood-fired over long cycles, the surface is influenced by ash, flame movement, and kiln atmosphere, giving the cup quiet depth and subtle variation. Intended for tea, coffee, or mindful sipping, the form offers durability, warmth, and a calm presence shaped through lived studio practice rather than uniform finish

Process & Craft

Each mug is handmade by master craftspeople using traditional studio pottery methods, beginning with wheel-thrown forms shaped from unique clay mixes prepared in-house. Natural, mineral-rich glazes are applied by hand, drawing from Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong influences that guide the studio’s design sensibility. Fired at nearly 1300°C, the stoneware develops remarkable strength and a glaze surface shaped by the dynamic play of fire, ash, and high-temperature reactions inside the kiln. Every piece is quietly distinct — a reflection of the kiln’s temperament, the hands that shaped it, and the experienced designers who curate its final aesthetic.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
