Raksha Bandhan honors the invisible, unbreakable threads of protection that link family hearts across any distance under the same protective horizon—an enduring sanctuary that remains entirely untouched by time—and this heavy, fire-vitrified stoneware stands as a beautiful tribute to those lifelong promises of unspoken support.

The surface is enveloped in a highly characterful mineral glaze that showcases a fluid transition from a deep midnight indigo base to flowing, stippled waves of cosmic teal. Under the intense heat of the kiln, the reactive glaze pulls beautifully along the upper collar to reveal a rich, dark toasted iron rim that outlines its elegant silhouette. The smooth, non-porous interior is entirely food-safe and stain-resistant, providing an exquisite canvas for deep pours of traditional filter coffee, spiced masala chai, or rich saffron tea.

All pieces are 100% food-grade.

Process & Craft

Each mug is handmade by master craftspeople using traditional studio pottery methods, beginning with wheel-thrown forms shaped from unique clay mixes prepared in-house. Natural, mineral-rich glazes are applied by hand, drawing from Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong influences that guide the studio’s design sensibility. Fired at nearly 1300°C, the stoneware develops remarkable strength and a glaze surface shaped by the dynamic play of fire, ash, and high-temperature reactions inside the kiln. Every piece is quietly distinct — a reflection of the kiln’s temperament, the hands that shaped it, and the experienced designers who curate its final aesthetic.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
