Shaped within a studio environment defined by decades of hands-on making and wood firing in India, this ceramic mug reflects a practice where form, surface, and function evolve through repetition and time. The low, cylindrical body and balanced handle are wheel-thrown with an emphasis on stability and everyday comfort, allowing the mug to feel natural in use. Warm amber and earthy brown tones develop through natural glazing and prolonged wood firing, where ash deposits and flame movement subtly shape the surface without forcing uniformity. Crafted in stoneware and fired slowly, the mug carries depth and variation that emerge gradually with handling and use. Intended for daily tea or coffee, the form offers durability, warmth, and a quiet visual richness that integrates seamlessly into everyday routines.

Process & Craft

Each mug is handmade by master craftspeople using traditional studio pottery methods, beginning with wheel-thrown forms shaped from unique clay mixes prepared in-house. Natural, mineral-rich glazes are applied by hand, drawing from Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong influences that guide the studio’s design sensibility. Fired at nearly 1300°C, the stoneware develops remarkable strength and a glaze surface shaped by the dynamic play of fire, ash, and high-temperature reactions inside the kiln. Every piece is quietly distinct — a reflection of the kiln’s temperament, the hands that shaped it, and the experienced designers who curate its final aesthetic.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
