Bringing a powerful sense of linear rhythm and towering, minimalist architecture to your interior space, this sleek cylinder vase from our Adwai collection functions beautifully as a striking standalone art piece or a balanced anchor for long-stemmed botanicals. The silhouette features a clean, unadorned column form with a uniformly straight profile that rises from a solid base to a perfectly circular rim, emphasizing pure vertical geometry.

The exterior serves as a striking exploration of high-contrast, atmospheric glazing. A warm, earthy amber-ochre glaze cascades down the upper three-quarters of the column, structured into deep, rhythmic vertical streaks that look like continuous mineral deposits. This richly textured canvas is grounded near the base by a heavy dip of dark metallic obsidian glaze, creating a stark "rust horizon" line that shows a subtle purple-bronze sheen where the minerals fused in the kiln. The interior is finished with a smooth, dark chocolate liner glaze that seamlessly wraps over the flat rim, neatly bounding the rich outer textures.

Meticulously engineered from high-density stoneware clay, this cylinder vase offers an exceptionally heavy, stable base to support tall branches or structural floral installations without tipping. The deliberate harmony between modern, architectural lines and the raw, fluid movement of the wood-fired glazes ensures it stands out in both contemporary and rustic settings.

Process & Craft

Rooted in a commitment to precise architectural forms and expressive glaze chemistry, this vase begins on the potter's wheel where local stoneware clay is meticulously thrown into a tall, balanced cylinder of uniform wall thickness. The raw vessel undergoes a demanding 20-hour vitrification process at 1300°C inside a wood-fired kiln to build an incredibly durable, non-porous core. Once cooled, the artisan maps out the surfaces—layering a highly reactive, iron-rich ochre slip down the length of the column to produce the distinctive, vertical streaming patterns. The lower base is then dipped into a dark obsidian iron glaze formula, allowing the intense reduction environment of the final firing to melt the two zones together into a beautiful, unrepeatable gradient.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption.
