Evolving from a studio practice shaped by long years of wood firing, teaching, and functional making in India, this ceramic mug reflects a calm, process-led approach to everyday objects. The low, rounded body and comfortably curved handle are wheel-thrown with attention to balance and repeated use, allowing the mug to feel familiar and steady in the hand. Soft patches of warm cream and amber emerge through natural glazing and extended wood firing, where ash, flame paths, and kiln atmosphere quietly influence the surface. Crafted in stoneware and fired with patience, the mug carries subtle variation and depth that unfold over time rather than demanding attention at first glance. Designed for daily tea or coffee, the form offers durability, warmth, and an easy presence that settles naturally into everyday routines.

All pieces are 100% food-grade.

Suitable for both dry and wet usage.

Process & Craft

Each mug is handmade by master craftspeople using traditional studio pottery methods, beginning with wheel-thrown forms shaped from unique clay mixes prepared in-house. Natural, mineral-rich glazes are applied by hand, drawing from Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong influences that guide the studio’s design sensibility. Fired at nearly 1300°C, the stoneware develops remarkable strength and a glaze surface shaped by the dynamic play of fire, ash, and high-temperature reactions inside the kiln. Every piece is quietly distinct — a reflection of the kiln’s temperament, the hands that shaped it, and the experienced designers who curate its final aesthetic.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
