An elegant centerpiece designed to elevate your living spaces, this piece from our Adwai collection brings an artistic, grounding presence to any tabletop. Its gently tapered, conical silhouette draws a thoughtful line between the stately poise of traditional Indian ceramic forms and the refined, functional minimalism of modern studio pottery, crafted to cradle fresh botanical arrangements or stand beautifully on its own.
The surface of the Ochre Glyph Vase serves as a striking canvas for archaic storytelling; a warm, sandy ochre glaze is heavily dappled with dark, iron-speckled freckles, mimicking weathered desert stone. Encircling the body are bold, horizontal bands of deep chocolate-umber that frame a central frieze of abstract, looping glyphs. This intentional, hand-painted brushwork pools into rich, glossy tones near the base and crowns the softly rolled rim. This rhythmic interplay of earthy textures and structured markings mirrors ancient pottery fragments dug from rich clay deposits, capturing a fleeting moment of natural alignment and historic artistry.
Designed for the slow home ritual and intentional decor, the substantial weight of this stoneware piece ensures an enduring, stable foundation. The tactile contrast between the smooth, decorated glazes and the raw, unhurried marks of the maker invites a meditative pause, turning the simple placement of flowers into a soulful expression of presence.

Process & Craft
Each piece is wheel-thrown using stoneware clay sourced from local Indian mineral deposits. The vessel undergoes a grueling 20-hour woodfire stoneware firing technique at 1300°C. During this time, Casuarina wood ash is carried by the draft of the kiln, landing on the glowing surfaces of the vase to melt into a natural, glass-like patina. This interaction between fire, ash, and minerals ensures that while the collection is unified, every single vase possesses a unique, unrepeatable soul that entirely defies the soulless uniformity of mass production.
Sustainability Practices
Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
