Bringing a grounded, architectural presence to your living space, this elegantly proportioned vase from our Avyaj collection balances a striking sculptural profile with rich, elemental art. The vessel is designed with a dramatic, flared trumpet neck that sweeps downward into a defined, narrow waist before expanding into a low-slung, bulbous base. This thoughtful geometry provides excellent structural stability while creating an ideal canvas for showcasing both sprawling floral arrangements and minimal, single-stem branch displays.

The exterior showcases a deeply hypnotic glaze that calls to mind foggy evergreen canopies and misty forest depths. A rich, high-gloss dark green glaze streaks down the elongated neck, revealing beautiful micro-crystalline textures and lighter mossy pooling where the kiln’s reduction atmosphere has interacted with the natural mineral slips. The lower bulbous base grounds the piece in a heavy, near-black obsidian undercurrent dappled with subtle, earthy iron-brown specks based on the visual profile. A dark interior liner glaze wraps over the subtly squared upper rim, framing the piece with clean, sophisticated boundaries.

Meticulously crafted from high-density stoneware clay, this versatile vase offers a heavy, stable foundation to anchor your interior surfaces. The perfect synthesis of fluid graphic glaze movements and strong, structural geometry elevates this piece into a striking functional art object meant to enhance modern and rustic homes alike.

Process & Craft

Rooted in a legacy of enduring utility and modern minimalism, the creation of this piece starts on the potter's wheel, where local Indian stoneware clay is meticulously thrown into its two distinct volumes—the flared trumpet neck and the rounded base—before being masterfully joined while leather-hard. The raw vessel undergoes a demanding 20-hour vitrification cycle inside a high-temperature wood kiln reaching 1300°C to secure a highly resilient, non-porous core. Once cooled, the exterior is layered with a custom dark green mineral glaze formula. During the final firing, the intense reduction environment pulls out deep forest greens and moody obsidian shifts across the ceramic shoulders, ensuring that each individual vase carries its own completely distinct, unrepeatable surface personality.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
