A vessel of quiet intention, the Moss Hush finds its soul at the intersection of the meditative Japanese Chawan and the grounded geometry of Indian earthen heritage. Part of the AVYAJ collection, it honors the profound beauty of essential forms, stripped of the superfluous to reveal a silhouette designed for the warmth of cupped palms.
The surface is a living cartography of the forest floor, where deep olive greens surrender to the dark, umber depths of dawn shadows. Within the kiln, the molten dance of fire has left its mark; the glaze bears the signature of 'lichen-like' textures and natural drips, mimicking the quiet growth of moss upon ancient river stones.
To hold this bowl is to engage in a silent dialogue with the earth. Its weighted presence and variegated texture offer a grounding tactility, turning the simple ritual of a midday broth or morning tea into a celebratory pause—an invitation to experience the luxury of slow living through the unique touch of the artisan.

Process & Craft
Hand-thrown using a bespoke blend of local Indian stoneware clays, this piece undergoes a transformative 20-hour journey within our wood-fired kiln. Reaching temperatures of 1300°C, we utilize Casuarina wood, whose ash is rich in minerals that vaporize and settle onto the clay. This artisanal alchemy creates a unique, unrepeatable surface character defined by natural ash runs and a depth of color that can only be achieved through the patient, unpredictable movement of flame.
