Evolving from a studio practice built on years of sustained making and wood-firing in India, this ceramic mug reflects an approach where surface, form, and use develop together through experience rather than decoration. The compact, rounded body and sturdy handle are wheel-thrown with attention to balance and everyday comfort, allowing the mug to feel reassuring in the hand. Deep, earthy browns and lighter kiln-marked patches emerge through natural glazing and long wood firings, where ash movement and flame paths shape the surface organically. Crafted in stoneware and fired with patience, the mug carries subtle variations that reveal the rhythm of repeated making and kiln life. Intended for daily tea or coffee, the form offers durability, warmth, and a quiet visual richness that settles naturally into everyday routines.

Process & Craft

Each mug is handmade by master craftspeople using traditional studio pottery methods, beginning with wheel-thrown forms shaped from unique clay mixes prepared in-house. Natural, mineral-rich glazes are applied by hand, drawing from Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong influences that guide the studio’s design sensibility. Fired at nearly 1300°C, the stoneware develops remarkable strength and a glaze surface shaped by the dynamic play of fire, ash, and high-temperature reactions inside the kiln. Every piece is quietly distinct — a reflection of the kiln’s temperament, the hands that shaped it, and the experienced designers who curate its final aesthetic.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
