Crafted to slow down your midday brew, this functional teapot from our Adwai collection turns tea preparation into a meditative art. The vessel features a beautifully balanced, classic profile with a sturdy, flared base, a short straight spout engineered for a clean pour, and an elegantly curved side handle that provides a secure, ergonomic grip.

The surface of the teapot showcases a brilliant play of minimalist high-fire glazes and rich texture. A smooth, creamy alabaster-cream glaze coats the main body and lid, beautifully dappled with fine, natural iron speckles that rise up from the clay beneath. This warm off-white canvas is dramatically cut by a powerful, hand-painted abstract brushstroke in deep iron-black that snakes vertically down the front of the pot and echoes onto the lid's knob. The glossy, dark fluid stroke accentuates the soft, throwing rings left by the artisan’s hands, offering a timeless studio aesthetic that anchors your tea table in quiet warmth.

Engineered with a solid, thick-walled construction, this piece provides exceptional heat retention to keep your infusions at the perfect temperature over long conversations. The precise balance between the weighted stoneware body and the comfortable side handle invites a rhythmic, intentional pour, grounding your daily ritual in a slow, mindful aesthetic.

Process & Craft

Conceived as a dialogue between structured form and spontaneous, abstract art, this teapot is individually hand-thrown using iron-rich local Indian stoneware. Once the body and spout are carefully assembled, the piece is subjected to an intense 1300°C wood-firing cycle for 20 hours, utilizing drifting kiln currents to impart a resilient, vitrified foundation. The cooled stoneware is then coated in a smooth, satin-finished alabaster cream glaze, serving as a pristine canvas for the final, defining step: a bold, intuitive vertical brushstroke executed by hand using a concentrated iron-oxide slip. This fluid dark ink-trail melts into the off-white glaze during its final firing, rendering a completely unrepeatable collector's piece.
