The striking, multi-layered surface design of this small bowl is a permanent artifact of a dynamic reduction cycle inside our traditional wood-fired kiln. Hand-thrown from pale, mineral-dense Indian stoneware clay, the piece was baked under intense conditions peaking at 1300°C. As the Casuarina wood fuels the fire, its volatile fly-ash sweeps across the hand-applied cobalt washes and carved textures, melting into a glassy finish that deepens the iron speckling across the raw clay skin. This elemental process vitrifies the glaze layers unevenly, ensuring that the precise bleed of the blue strokes and the flashing on the exposed base ring remain entirely unique to this single firing.
