The vessel is defined by a low-slung, sweeping globular body that tapers gently toward a narrow rim, flanked by a stout, upturned spout that promises an exceptionally smooth, uniform pour. Crowning the piece is a dramatic overhead handle constructed from seasoned rattan, arched and secured through integrated ceramic loops with traditional cane bindings to stay completely cool while serving.
The glaze application showcases a masterful, variegated transition across the stoneware body. A soft, micro-crystalline off-white mist coats the top shoulders, swirling dynamically into a deep, moody slate-blue undercurrent that wraps around the base and lower belly. Subtle glaze pooling near the rim creates a delicate, naturally occurring iron-brown border that separates the matching domed lid, emphasizing the unrepeatable character of hand-applied, high-fire reductions.

Celebrating fluid glaze movements and mixed-medium construction, the creation of this piece begins on the potter's wheel, where local Indian stoneware clay is thrown into a balanced, low-profile form before twin attachment loops are luted on by hand. The raw vessel undergoes a meticulous 20-hour vitrification process at 1300°C inside a wood-fired kiln, where shifting atmospheric currents create a unique structural foundation. The artisan then masterfully layers cool azure mineral slips and a pale crystalline overglaze, allowing the intense heat of the final glaze firing to organically blend the pigments into a gradient that mimics natural water elements. To complete the piece, master weavers carefully steam-bend, wrap, and bind the seasoned rattan handle directly onto the fired ceramic frame.
