Gathering warmth and weight into a low, rounded form, this ceramic incense holder reflects a studio practice shaped by years of wood firing and sustained making in India. The compact silhouette is wheel-thrown to retain gentle variations that reveal the rhythm of hand and material rather than strict symmetry. Deep, earthy browns pool across the surface through natural glazing and extended wood firing, where ash movement and kiln atmosphere create soft depth and quiet highlights. Crafted in stoneware and fired patiently, the incense holder develops a tactile richness shaped by flame and time. Intended to hold a incense sticks or single stem of flower  or to rest as a sculptural object, the form brings grounding presence, warmth, and calm to interior settings.

Process & Craft

Each Incense Holder is handmade by master craftspeople using traditional studio pottery methods, beginning with wheel-thrown forms shaped from unique clay mixes prepared in-house. Natural, mineral-rich glazes are applied by hand, drawing from Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong influences that guide the studio’s design sensibility. Fired at nearly 1300°C, the stoneware develops remarkable strength and a glaze surface shaped by the dynamic play of fire, ash, and high-temperature reactions inside the kiln. Every piece is quietly distinct — a reflection of the kiln’s temperament, the hands that shaped it, and the experienced designers who curate its final aesthetic.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
