Embracing chance, contrast, and raw surface expression, this ceramic bottle form explores the dramatic language of Raku firing through a contemporary lens. The upright, minimal silhouette offers a strong architectural presence, shaped slowly by hand to retain subtle variations in proportion and edge. Graphic, charcoal-toned markings sit against a pale, smoke-kissed surface, echoing memories of structures, grids, and built environments translated into abstract form. Crafted in stoneware and Raku-fired, the surface is transformed through rapid firing, reduction, and cooling, resulting in crackled textures, smoky shadows, and unrepeatable patterns shaped by fire and air. Designed to function as a sculptural vessel or as a standalone art object, the form brings intensity, rhythm, and visual depth to shelves, consoles, and curated spaces.

Raku ceramics are delicate, porous, and made primarily for decorative use.

Process & Craft

Each bottle is handmade by master craftspeople using traditional studio pottery methods, beginning with wheel-thrown forms shaped from unique clay mixes prepared in-house. Natural, mineral-rich glazes are applied by hand, drawing from Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong influences that guide the studio’s design sensibility. Fired at nearly 1300°C, the stoneware develops remarkable strength and a glaze surface shaped by the dynamic play of fire, ash, and high-temperature reactions inside the kiln. Every piece is quietly distinct — a reflection of the kiln’s temperament, the hands that shaped it, and the experienced designers who curate its final aesthetic.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
