Bringing a grounded, atmospheric presence to your table service, this elegantly proportioned jug from our Adwai collection balances a classic utilitarian profile with rich, elemental art. The vessel features a generous, bulbous lower body that effortlessly tapers into a wide, prominent neck and finishes with a sharply pinched, drip-free pouring lip. A sweeping, structural loop handle reaches smoothly from the rim down to the mid-belly, providing an exceptionally balanced grip that makes serving look and feel fluid.

The exterior showcases a deeply hypnotic glaze that calls to mind foggy evergreen forests or misty coastal waters. A multi-toned, micro-crystalline dark green glaze wraps the lower belly, transitioning beautifully into lighter, mossy stone gradients near the neck where the kiln's reduction atmosphere interacted with the natural slips. The interior of the jug features a glossy, dark iron-brown liner glaze that subtly frames the lip, offering a clean, rustic boundary to the glassy exterior walls.

Meticulously built with thick-walled stoneware density, this versatile jug offers excellent thermal retention to keep your iced infusions, fresh juices, or spring water beautifully chilled. The perfect synthesis of tactile curves, smooth mineral surfaces, and a strong utilitarian handle elevates this piece into an intentional, functional art object meant to anchor daily family dining.

Process & Craft

Rooted in a legacy of enduring utility and modern minimalism, the creation of this piece starts on the wheel, where local Indian stoneware clay is thrown into its robust, rounded form before the artisan meticulously hand-pulls the large side handle directly from the leather-hard body. The raw, single-handled vessel undergoes a demanding 20-hour vitrification cycle inside a high-temperature wood kiln reaching 1300°C to secure a highly resilient, non-porous foundation. Once cooled, the exterior is dipped in a custom dark green mineral glaze formula, allowing the intense reduction environment of the final firing to produce subtle shifts and misty, moss-like gradients across the ceramic shoulders. This careful multi-phase journey guarantees that each individual jug carries its own distinct, unrepeatable surface personality.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
