Drawing from the timeless aesthetics of Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong traditions, this handcrafted mug celebrates the beauty of simple, functional pottery. Wheel-thrown with a steady, intentional rhythm, its gently flared form carries subtle throwing lines that honour the maker’s touch. The soft ivory glaze creates a calm, understated canvas, while the hand-painted leaf motif in deep blue and charcoal adds a striking, organic accent. High-temperature firing enhances both strength and character, producing natural variations in tone and texture that make each piece distinctly its own.

Process & Craft

Each mug is handmade by master craftspeople using traditional studio pottery methods, beginning with wheel-thrown forms shaped from unique clay mixes prepared in-house. Natural, mineral-rich glazes are applied by hand, drawing from Japanese Mingei and Korean Buncheong influences that guide the studio’s design sensibility. Fired at nearly 1300°C, the stoneware develops remarkable strength and a glaze surface shaped by the dynamic play of fire, ash, and high-temperature reactions inside the kiln. Every piece is quietly distinct — a reflection of the kiln’s temperament, the hands that shaped it, and the experienced designers who curate its final aesthetic.

Sustainability Practices

Made in serene, low-waste pottery studios that prioritize mindful production. All materials used — clays, glazes, oxides — are natural and non-toxic. High-temperature firing ensures long product life, reducing breakage and replacement cycles. Crafted in small batches to support ethical production and minimize overconsumption. Each mug embodies a slow craft philosophy, valuing longevity over mass production.
