Born from the Avyaj Collection, this standalone teapot is a poetic celebration of daily rituals, designed to bring an understated beauty into the simplicity of our everyday lives. The full, robust silhouette draws deep inspiration from ancestral Indian liquid-carrying vessels, offering a thoughtful dialogue between traditional hospitality and a minimalist, modern aesthetic that effortlessly enriches the user's daily landscape.
The piece features a disciplined, beautifully rounded form hand-thrown from raw buff stoneware, serving as a clean canvas for a striking, sweeping gesture of hand-painted cobalt slip. When subjected to the intense atmosphere of the kiln, the deliberate interplay between the speckled, iron-spotted cream clay and the fluid blue brushwork creates an evocative sense of natural movement captured beneath a glossy glaze.
Functioning across a highly utilitarian range, this single teapot is designed to elegantly ground the daily steeping ritual, providing a striking focal point on the tabletop for brewing and serving hot infusions, transforming a routine daily habit into a mindful, solitary pause or a warm, shared moment of connection.

Process & Craft
Meticulously hand-thrown using a pale, mineral-rich blend of local Indian stoneware clays, this teapot undergoes a transformative 18-hour journey within our traditional wood-fired kiln. Reaching peak temperatures of 1300°C, the piece is seasoned by the combustion of Casuarina wood while its volatile fly-ash circulates throughout the chamber. The ash reacts with the raw clay surface to produce a subtle, glass-like speckling, permanently baking the bold cobalt sweeps and fine throwing rings directly into the stone-like skin. The arching overhead handle is painstakingly shaped from local sustainable cane and secured with traditional lashings, completing a singular artifact born from the beautiful unpredictability of the flame.
