Belonging to the SAHA collection, this set draws inspiration from the enduring spirit of the Indian 'chai' gathering, where the vessel is a silent witness to dialogue. Its robust, rounded forms echo the humble terracotta heritage of the subcontinent, refined through the disciplined lens of Japanese stoneware traditions to create a silhouette that is both grounded and profoundly elegant.

The surface serves as a map of the fire's journey; the warm ochre and deep umber tones evoke the quiet intensity of an Amber Solstice. Glaze transitions mimic the movement of rising smoke, while the delicate speckling of wood ash settles like stardust upon sun-scorched earth, ensuring that the 'runs' and 'drips' on each piece are a unique thumbprint of the kiln's breath.

To hold these vessels is to engage in a ritual of slow living and shared intimacy. The substantial weight of the stoneware provides a meditative anchor, while the tactile ridges left by the potter’s wheel serve as a rhythmic reminder of the human hand. This is tea served with intention, turning a simple daily pause into a celebrated heirloom moment.

Process & Craft

Each piece is hand-thrown using iron-rich local Indian stoneware clays and minerals. The set undergoes a rigorous 16–20 hour wood-firing process in a traditional kiln, reaching temperatures of 1300°C. During this intense transformation, Casuarina wood ash is carried by the flame to melt onto the clay's surface, creating a natural, glass-like patina and complex textures that defy the soulless uniformity of mass production.
