The vessel’s exterior functions as a canvas for deep, elemental moods and natural gradients. A glassy coat of deep charcoal and twilight blue wraps the body, marked by an intentional horizontal groove carved right beneath the collar. During its time in the kiln, a dense, stippled veil of sea-foam teal and pale ash breaks softly across the upper rim and shoulder, giving the piece a rich, multi-layered depth that shifts constantly depending on how the light catches it.

Process & Craft
The fluid, high-gloss vitrification across the body of this stoneware mug is a permanent stamp of the volatile currents shifting inside our wood-fired kiln. Thrown by hand from local, mineral-dense Indian clays, the piece was subjected to an intense 18-hour bake reaching top temperatures of 1300°C. In this reduction environment, the burning Casuarina wood fills the air with fine, mineral-laden fly-ash that acts as a natural fluxing agent upon hitting the glazed surface. This complex chemical fusion causes the pale teal and dark iron tones to pool and run unevenly across the structural contours, exposing a toasted, raw umber clay body along the exposed base ring where the flame directly licked the stoneware.
