Bringing a clean, minimalist serenity to your personal drinkware rituals, this hand-thrown carafe and matching cup set from our Adwai collection is designed for serving warm sake, spirits, or water. The carafe features a classic, balanced profile with a full-bellied teardrop chamber that cinches into an elegant, narrow neck before flaring into a smooth, dripless rim. Accompanying it is a handleless cup detailed with a gently indented waist that is sculpted to settle comfortably within the palm of your hand.
The set features a high-gloss, glass-smooth off-white and sandy-beige glaze that envelops the exterior silhouettes. This clean backdrop is lightly peppered with a natural spray of fine iron freckles that erupt from the deep clay body during the firing process, lending a beautiful organic texture to the modern shapes. Where the glaze thins over the rims and edges, it breaks into a subtle, toasted earth-brown border that frames the cool cream body. The interiors are completely vitrified with a food-safe, non-porous finish for effortless cleaning.
Formed from premium stoneware clay, both pieces offer excellent thermal retention, preserving the temperature of your hot sake or chilled refreshments throughout your meal.

Process & Craft
The physical execution of this traditional narrow-necked carafe demands great physical control on the potter's wheel, as the artisan must slowly draw the spinning clay walls inward to form the slender throat without letting the wide chamber below distort or cave in. The matching tumbler is thrown in tandem to ensure exact proportional harmony. Once both forms reach a leather-hard state, they are trimmed and bisque-fired. The pieces are then dipped in a custom titanium-white mineral glaze formula and subjected to a 20-hour firing cycle at 1300°C inside a traditional wood-fired reduction kiln, forcing the subtle mineral impurities to fuse uniquely into every single set.
