A manifestation of structural presence and quiet utility, this generous mug is developed within the Avyaj Collection to bring a striking, unadorned beauty into our everyday habits. The honest, slightly tapered cylinder takes inspiration from ancestral Indian earthenware vessel profiles, modernizing the form with a clean-lined discipline that quietly enriches the visual landscape of a contemporary home.
The exterior surface acts as a canvas of soft, subtle gradients and elemental contrast. A smooth, opaque milky-white glaze completely coats the body, allowing dark, speckles of raw iron from deep within the clay to break through like an early morning mist. This snowy cloak halts sharply at the rim, revealing a toasted, raw umber edge that outlines the vessel and frames a dramatically deep, dark iron interior.
Engineered across an intensely utilitarian range, this robust tankard is an ideal companion for chilled local ales, refreshing cold-brews, or iced infusions. The mug features a gracefully swept, hand-pulled loop handle topped with an intuitive thumb-rest at the apex and finished with a delicate structural anchor at the base, offering a highly balanced, comfortable grip that encourages a slower, more deliberate rhythm to our daily pauses.

Process & Craft
The snowy, vitrified surface of this mug is a direct record of a volatile, reduced-oxygen atmosphere inside the kiln chamber. Hand-thrown from local high-mineral Indian clays, the piece was subjected to an intense 1300°C wood-firing. Rather than relying on heavy ash runs to coat the form, the glaze composition on this piece was formulated to trap the escaping iron gases from the underlying stoneware body, resulting in a delicate, stippled bleeding of dark minerals beneath the milky veil. As the Casuarina wood flame whipped around the tapered walls, it left a toasted, flashed patina on the exposed base and handle apex, ensuring that the visual rhythm of each mug remains entirely unrepeatable.
